On 8 November 1992, Episopal Vicar for Immigration formally accepted this migrant community as part of the Archdiocese of Sydney, and they were given the name of The Catholic Indonesian Community. In May 2019, the community transferred to St Pius Catholic Church in the Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish, Enmore. Since 1999, the community has had regular mass in St Michael Catholic Church, Daceyville, and in 2004 they transferred to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Kensington.

The Australian Government acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, water, culture and community. We pay our respects to the Elders both past and present.
