Information webinar for people with disability
On 23 July 2025, we partnered with People with Disability Australia to deliver an information webinar about the Scheme. The webinar explained the redress journey for people with disability, their carers and support workers.
This webinar covered:
- overview of the National Redress Scheme
- applying for redress
- redress outcomes available
- support for people with disability
- application process and length of time
- barriers for people applying for redress
- records and information required
- legal assistance
- appealing a decision
- reporting abuse.
This video also includes an Auslan interpreter and closed captions.

Easy Read resources
There are a number of Easy Read guides available to help people with disability when applying to the National Redress Scheme. They are written to be as easy to read as possible.

Hearing and speech communication support
If you are d/Deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech communication difficulty you can use the National Relay Service to contact the Scheme.
The National Relay Service has specially trained staff called relay officers who act as a ‘relay’ or a bridge between people who are d/Deaf hard of hearing or have speech communication difficulty, and the person or organisation they are calling.
