Pendle Hill was purchased to function as the Headmaster's residence c1927. Boarders have intermittently resided at Pendle Hill. In the early 1960s then Principal Bill Oats and family moved to Swarthmore and Pendle Hill became the Junior Middle Boys Boarding House (1962); in the late 1970s the senior boarders lived at Pendle Hill. Since the early 1990s Pendle Hill has been used as the Principal's residence.
