Puffing Billy Preservation Society supported the government operators of Puffing Billy Railway - from 1955 to 1977, Victorian Railway, from 1977 to 2022, Emerald Tourist Railway Board, with members acting as volunteers for these organisations at all levels. PBPS projects included building and maintaining a museum, working to restore the heritage railway line from Belgrave to Gembrook and required locomotives and carriages. The Society itself focused on membership and fundraising and supporting these projects.
