1900, Sisters of the Good Samaritan started teaching at St Columba Primary School and St Mary College. 1998, schools were amalgamated to become part of Columba Catholic College. The Sisters of the Good Samaritan were invited to work in this ministry by the Diocese of Rockhampton and later the Diocese of Townsville. Sisters were actively present in this institution between 1900 and 1997. A period between 1979 and 1996 did not have any Sisters present in the school.
