In 1957, St Philomena's Catholic School opened. In 1963, the school changed it's name to St William's Grovelly. The Sisters of the Good Samaritan were invited to establish this school which was entrusted to their religious institute by the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Sisters were actively present in this institution from 1957 to 1963.
