The Withnell House Youth Hostel was opened at 68 Guildford Road, Mt Lawley on 20 September 1952. It operated for 20 years as a boy's youth hostel and was then used for another 20 years for a variety of residential programmes. This institution is included in the Scheme as part of The Salvation Army Western Australia.
