South Australia Amateur Water Polo Association

Water Polo South Australia (WPSA) is the governing body of Water Polo in South Australia, and is affiliated with the national body Water Polo Australia (WPA). The Association was established in 1951 as the South Australia Amateur Water Polo Association, though Water Polo competitions were recorded as early as 1939. In the early years, the Association was a part of the South Australian Amateur Swimming Association. Like the Australian Association, SA Water Polo broke away from direct control of the Swimming Association in 1982.

Established in 1870, our Club today consists of more than 200 members across all categories including recreational, juniors and masters. Our Club is always welcoming new members and we are open to everyone! We offer indoor rowing group fitness classes as well as various Learn2Row programs throughout the year. Our squads train throughout the year and compete in various local and interstate regattas. As the largest community boatshed in Ballarat, our Club has a quality fleet of boats and equipment with an ongoing commitment to continually reinvest and improve our fleet and facilities. Our Club has recently invested in improving our ergo fleet and boasts the best (and only!) indoor rowing studio in Ballarat! Winning the 2019/20 Champion Club Premiership is a testament to the growth and success the club and its members have experienced over the more recent years.
